Laotse and Whitehead, are they relativist?
Lee Tae-Ho

Abstract
In this paper, the writer analyzed the concept of "relation" and "absolute" in general, dictionary, and technical meaning to find out more accurately that "Laotse" and "whithead" are relativists. The technical meaning of this time refers to relativity and absoluteness of philosophical meaning. Relativity and absoluteness meaning of this philosophical meaning were analyzed in the sense of ontological, epistemological and axiological. The concept of relativity is that a relationship mutually effected on between two equal beings is necessary. The concept of absoluteness is that a relationship mutually effected on between two beings is not necessary. Because one of them is complete or proximity to perfection, it be not affected by the other one. Those who do not need an equal opponent because of their perfection or proximity to perfection at this time are called the absolute. To Laotse, the two partners are Nothing and Being ; to Whitehead, the two are God and the World. To Laotse, Nothing and Being are counterparts who are equal and affect on each other. To Whitehead, God and World are counterparts who are equal and affect on each other. Laotse and Whitehead are therefore both relationists. This is because both do not accept the absolute person and see the origin of the universe as a counterpart.
